Do games require 64-bit yet?

That hasn't been true since the early days of Vista. Unless you are using particularly old hardware, you'll likely be able to find drivers for 64bit no problem

I recently installed Win 8.1 64-bit. Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition used to stutter a lot on Win Vista 32-bit. But on 8.1, nope. Same hardware in both cases. Really mysterious.

192 GB isn't a limit that I've ever heard of.

The 4GB limit of addressable memory in 32-bit systems is based on 2^32, or 4,294,967,296 - 4GB.

With 64-bit, you increase the theoretical limit exponentially - 2^64, or 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 - 16 EXAbytes. That's just a *touch* more than 192GB. Windows does artificially limit the amount of RAM it supports still, but Windows 8 Pro already supports up to 512GB, which is more than twice your claim anyway.

For reference, it goes bytes > kilobytes > megabytes > gigabytes > terabytes > petabytes > exabytes.

Also, the only real reason the 16 exabyte limit is still "theoretical" at this point is that physical space becomes a factor. RAM chips only have so much capacity per chip, and there is no current hardware that supports 16 exabytes worth of RAM. As technology continues and we keep learning how to fit more stuff in less space, we could easily end up hitting that 16 exabyte mark sometime tho.

He's referring to Window's limits. Windows 7 Home Premium has a physical limit of 16GB while Professional and up have a limit of 192GB. Windows 8 increased it to 512GB for Pro and up.
