Just Cause 2 Graphic bug

#1TheAlmightyCowPosted 12/18/2013 8:45:13 AM
So the Just Cause 2 PC part of GameFaqs is basically dead, so I'm posting here..

Anyways, I've had this issue for a while now, but it's even more annoying in Multiplayer.

This huge red thing appears when I get damaged, or when I damage someone else... Does anyone know what this is and how I can fix it?

It's an artifact, usually happens when your GPU is on its way out. Do you have similar issues in any other games? I had issues with a GTX 460 I owned previously, where it had tons of vertex issues like that one...I was able to mitigate it for a little while by downclocking the memory speed but overall you may eventually have to get a new card.

Well, I have a 670... But this is the only game I've had issues with... I think I fixed it once by turning off some setting... I don't remember. :O

It does kind of look like an artifact. Do you have anything like Virtu enabled? That can cause those kind of artifacts in some games.

If that's not the case try verifying the game's integrity on Steam.

It's a bug in newer GeForce drivers. You'll have to disable decals until they fix it.

If you don't know what Virtu is you probably don't have it. Screen tearing fixer without capping framerate, comes built in to some mobos but you need software to activate it. I know it made Crysis Warhead artifact like crazy for me.
