Literally playing any kind of metal on this onboard audio sounds like crap its like guitars r to distorted.

i listen to melodic metal ok,not death metal.Guitars r drowning out vocals everything is mess.

Are you sure you can blame it on the integrated sound? Maybe you installed some program (or didn't install some program) and the settings are messed up from there? Maybe your speakers aren't as good as you think they are?

Like I've got integrated sound, and I was running the generic drivers before.... it sounded pretty good. Then for the hell of it I installed the motherboard driver stuff which included a bunch of extra junk for the sound card and NOW it sounds worse...I'm gonna see if I can play with it a bit more and fix it, but if not I'm gonna uninstall all the sound drivers and go back to the generic ones I had before.

i have program called dfx for winamp with it off it doesnt have that boosting edge with ito n it sounds better then with it off

Turn off your equalizer.

found problem i had loudness equalization on odd how it got turned on

Good! Also don't buy that card. That is one of the worst creative offerings out there.
