Setting up wireless repeater

#1KavenryPosted 12/19/2013 5:47:33 PM
Working w/ a WNDR3300 that has already been flashed w/ DD-WRT.

First thing I did was change it from "AP" mode to "Repeater", and now I can't connect to it, as there's no SSID being broadcast :(

Reset button on the router does nothing. Did I royally bork the router in 5 minutes?

Can you access the options if you plug directly into the router and enter its IP address?

Just tried to do that, but routerlogin.net failed as did 192.168.1.1

Nevermind, its sorted itself out. I was being impatient and not waiting for it to boot up properly to start broadcasting the signal. Reset button did work, actually.

Alright, new question (now that everything is playing nicely together).

Router 2 is bridged to Router 1. Router 1 is connected to the Internet.

My computer and both routers are all equidistant from each other, in a rough triangle shape.

When connected to Router 1, I get Speedtest results of 12 ms ping, 13 Mbps download speed, and 11 Mbps upload speed.

When connected to Router 2, the results are mostly the same, however, the download speed is a measly 1 Mbps (compared to the 13 on the main router).

How can I amp up the DL speed on the other router to match?
