what are some good mystery/detective PC games?

Where someone committed a murder or some other crime and the protagonist has to find out who it is, why, etc.

Honestly, I would probably throw in FEZ into that genre. The game is pure exploration and involves cryptography. It was one of the few games that made me bust out a notebook to take notes and keep track of things so I can figure stuff out.
The console war is over, both consoles have gone casual, neither won the war. They both just kind of...gave up.

The sherlock Holmes games on steam are pretty good. I really liked Sherlock Holmes Vs. Jack the Ripper.
Gamefaqs game rating system : 10 = Best Game Ever. 8-9. Crushing dissapointment. Below 8 :Total Garbage. This is getting ridiculous. people agreeing so far 108
