What are the worst brands in computer components?

Antec on their lat few PSUs. They meet minimum specs, but they are not of the quality that antec was before they went out of business.

What are the brands you avoid?

For example:
Biostar - criminals, doesn't award rebates, dissapears, no support, warranty is complete lie
Patriot Memory - Criminals, fraudsters, sells defective memory knowingly.
.

Thats completely false about Biostar. I know that much. As for Patriot I have there RAM but no problems with it.

ATI/AMD

haven't had a video card from them that had properly working drivers since whenever the Radeon 9800 Pro was released

This. Oh you're playing a game? Let me just interrupt to disable Aero for you even though you've repeatedly told me to not do this! This never happens with Nvidia.

I had a bad experience with X and recommend you avoid them

replace X with:
Seagate
Western Digital
Rosewill
iBuyPower
Alienware
Dell
Apple
Microsoft
Intel
AMD
Toshiba
Lenovo
MSI
EVGA
Gigabyte
PowerColor
Sapphire

What brand of HDD's do you use then? Seagate and WD make up the whole market pretty much.

I guess he also avoids intel, amd, seagate, WD, Samsung. Etc etc

Ignore my sig. I use a VIA C7 as my primary PC.

Sure, it doesn't work as well and struggles with Windows XP, but I'm supporting the little guy man.

My first three AMD builds all used VIA chipsets, they used to be really great.

Diamond also used to be excellent, the diamond monster voodoo series were pretty much the best voodoo cards back in the day.

Hitachi still does business with the hard drive market, and their offerings are pretty good from a price:storage perspective from what I've seen. I've got three of their 1tb drives in my machine and haven't had an issue with them in the years since I purchased them. Toshiba, IBM, and Samsung also at least market if not also make hard drives as well, and IIRC they've been in the hard drive market for quite awhile too.
