Help build a $500 gaming pc off amazon

#1paul123398Posted 12/20/2013 10:41:12 PM
Hi,

I know amazon isn't the most ideal site but can someone help build me a PC in the 500-550 range that can run most games decently! The only rule is that all the parts must come from amazon.

Thank you!

Unless you have Amazon Prime and want the expedited shipping, why Amazon?

I mean, I have Amazon Prime myself and tend to double check prices there but unless it's a single item I never really see any price advantage over Newegg. (more so if i can get a bundle or two worked in)

You know what would be awesome. If you tell us what you already have (keyboard, mouse, Windows, monitor etc). $550 is a very small budget and every little bit of thing you already have helps.

I already have a monitor, mouse and keyboard. I don't have windows yet but leave it out of the calculation, I can probs get one from my dad.

Thanks!

Newegg rarely beats Amazon. Amazon has xAmount of electronics manufactures so it's actually better. If you want the real deals, you have to take risks. You have to go to the darkside of retailers.

This would work. with the MoBo you could upgrade the PCU down the road if you want to. Though I am not 100% sure I would trust in the steam OS as your main OS at this point in time. I am not sure how much games will have support for it so he could lose out on a lot of good stuff.

I'd hate to say cut back to a radeon 7770 2gb to try to push for win 7 OS. Otherwise I just recommend saving more or just trying the steam OS and you always have the option to put windows on it if the steam OS is not to your liking.

The 7770 is a work horse, but can struggle at times with some modern games....the R7 270 ( not the R9 270X) is an excellent card for the price. the power supply is fine for years to come. the 4GB RAM is due to budget.

He said don't worry about Windows cost. He can get it for free,

So that's probably the best gaming machine he'll get for the price.
