Gorgeous shooter game but missions can be very tedious.

It's alright. Gets pretty repetitive and could use faster paced gameplay.

If the space shooter genre were more populated then SSZ would be pretty forgettable. As it stands there isn't much like it out now.

It's a 6/10. Not bad, but not great either.

A space game without newtonian physics isn't a space game, so I don't care about it, but not everybody sees it that way.

Yeah, Tie Fighter and Freespace are pretty bad aren't they?

Really, you can count the number of games with newtonian physics on one hand.

Hell, weren't you the one who loved Tachyon? It doesn't have newtonian physics either.

@jake-sf

Cuz games must emulate real life to be good, right???

What do you guys expect from the game? It's an open spacey space ship...shooter thing. Similar to say, Gundam games. SSZ (NOT Infinity--Infinity is the extra repetitive arena shooter, so that's expected) has plenty of content in it's campaign. For retail price it might be a bit much, but it's $5 right now, and for that there's plenty of content there. The DLC adds even more.

I personally really enjoyed the games. They control well and do what they set out for very nicely, IMO; Action based shooting in giant suits---What's not to like here? I absolutely recommend both SSZ and SS Infinity while they're dirt cheap.

It's definitely got the combat down, but the last mission is dreadful, like the story, and it almost feels like a horrid Star Fox 64 Last Level clone.

The levels are fine, it's more of the AI being incredibly easy/stupid and or the same exact stuff happening, like 5 ships in triangular formation, every single time.

As a pretty big Ace Combat fan, I thought the last mission was fairly epic. >_>

Reminded me of Megalith

I look at a Platypus and wonder "How many other animals we can get into this?"
