Looking for a new case

#1wassup3Posted 12/24/2013 12:00:31 PM
Looking to spend <$100 for a case. I currently have the Antec P180, but the door fell off, the top vent bracket is broken, and the front USB is broken, so I'm looking for a replacement for it. I would like a lighter and more durable case that's also quiet and minimal. I don't do any water cooling and I tend to get more mid-range video cards. Any recommendations?

I saw some of the Corsair Carbide cases going for ~100 or less when I was shopping for a case for my brother.

Fractal Design R4 is a great, reliable case.

Are you talking about this one?

The Fractal Design cases look like they copied off of Antec P280. They are definitely cheaper though. Do they go cheaper than this?

This one the Fractal R4 is the one I used for my PC and it's pretty good

Comparing it to the one you linked unless you want to go for more air flow I'd go with the Fractal or something like it.

The Corsair from the picture at least seems to be just the case the Fractal on the other hand has sound deadening material all around the inside so it should meet your quiet needs

This. This is what I have, as well as many other people on this board. After helping my friend put together his PC yesterday and messing with the case he used, I appreciate it even more. He uses a Rosewill BlackHawk, which isn't bad, but the Define R4 is just so nice and "efficient" (for a case). It feels like a luxury case. No gaming gimmicks.

Looking at previous sales, I guess 85 is pretty good for it since it has only gone to 80 a few times and 60 once.

I vote Fractal R4 as well. Currently using the model with the clear side panel.

Kind of bulky, but it gives you a bit more room behind the tray for cable routing.

It it also very sturdy.
