Topic title was good, but the rest of the post was thoroughly mediocre.

I bought it with the humble bundle I think? Either way, it was really cheap. I haven't even installed it.

7/10 game imo Really brought down by the slow motion thing showing you exactly where the enemy is.

I'd give it a 6 or 6.5

Besides some stupid game mechanics like the one you mentioned, the game overstayed its welcome by about 4 hours. According to Steam it took me 10 hours, of which a few hours are due to the game playing while I was AFK today. So it was probably about 7 or 8 hours.

The game gets old very quickly.

This is how I got through Half Life 2. Bought it, had a save that I worked on very slowly over a year because most of the game just bored me to death.

Aww, sad face. I'm just starting it on 360, played through episode two and so far I've liked it, hopefully my level of enjoyment will continue all the way through.

Nothing wrong with Alan Wake, one must just take it easy and take one chapter per day
