CPU performance is improving so slow

#1EternalFlame66Posted 12/25/2013 6:29:35 PM
Intel increases CPU performance by 5-15% with each iteration, while AMD plays the catch up game...

When will we get the next C2D which doubled performance again?

Really looking forward to Graphene as well.

Probably when quantum computing is a thing

Quantum computing is a thing and it is awesome. These computers cost millions. Google has one now i think.
The next increase i think in the commercial market will be the usage of graphene. IBM i think or intel, is already at work with the research. It will be exponentially faster than whats out on the market today,

The next big jump in CPU performance will happen if AMD suddenly catches up or leapfrogs Intel in performance and Intel has to leapfrog AMD in response.

So basically, never.

Sorry, meant consumer grade quantum computing

Most likely because in consumer market, nobody needs a superpowered computer yet. Who buy 4960x really, not many people.

A little.

I get pissed when I see that the CPU performance between sandy bridge and haswell barely improved.
