Is Gone Home really, really good?

Is it worth the purchase?

it's a 2 hour experience after which you'll most likely never touch it again.

good is... well, up for debate.

i enjoyed it but that's because i wasn't the one who paid for it XD.

PC hardware doesn't need to match console hardware in price when PC gamers save literal thousands from the software they buy.

No. It's just LGBT pandering with a generic love story, and all you're doing is picking up and reading notes off of the ground. Don't buy into the hype. Don't believe their lies.

If you grew up in the 90s you may have nostalgia. If you grew up in the pacific northwest you may have nostalgia. If you are (or were) an angsty teenager you may relate to the story. If you enjoy bad garage band music then you may relate to some of the music. If you're a chick you may relate to the story better than i did.

I would give it a 6/10 if you got it super cheap ($3-$5). I would give it much lower marks than that if you paid full price for it.

So yeah, 2-3 hours (3 if you take your time) and then it's not worth keeping on the hard drive for any reason at all...

The people who really hate it invariably seem to be complete high-order douche bags, so there must be something good going on with it.

But considering it's only two hours long, I still really can't justify dropping more than a couple of bucks on it.

Yeah, I think it's a very good game. The more I've thought about it, the more I give it my personal GOTY.

People are obviously going to disagree and write out some pedantic argument why I'm wrong and stupid, but I don't care. It only took me two hours to get through, but I enjoyed every minute of it and I enjoyed every aspect of the game. Played it about a week ago and it instantly became a favorite. I can't really get into why without dropping some spoilers, so I'm not going to. All you can do is take my word and recommendation

I watched a Lets play and thought it was pretty interesting. Definitely an enjoyable adventure watching it, but way too short and simple for the asking price. The one thing I did like is that it didn't turn into your typical "video game" story. It was all completely normal and realistic at the same time this means it's a very simple story.
