Rate my PC Budget Build!

"LOL, my thoughts exactly."

This IS MY budget build. Budget is subjective, my friend. A non-budget for me would be 2.3k which is what i WANTED to spend. But I'm cutting this down to 1.4k while still trying to keep this thing SOLID.

Get over it. What your budget is, might not be what my budget is. People have different salaries. I know I know, its flabbergasting that we aren't living in a communistic nation.

Word, hows that compare to my build?

I gave you more RAM, since you said you will be doing other things. Gave you a AIO liquid cooler instead of an air cooler, and cheaper. Gave you a better PSU than the one you picked first. The SSD is better. Case is really subjective though. If you like the way the 500R looks, then spend a bit more. I just picked the 400R because it's cheaper. It's basically the same case though; alot of interchangable parts. The 500R I believe has a external swap-able hdd port.

You gave him a crap cooler. Noctua nh-d14 destroys that cooler performance for $10 more.
An a slightly better ssd.

Everything else is subject to opinion.

I personally built a very simlar computer on black Friday. If I where you I'd get a full sized case. I regretted my decision to get a mid tower. Also you may want to think about getting a bigger power supply for when you eventually want to add a second gpu.

Hmmm okay I can up the PSU for like $20 bucks no way it's not worth it. 1400-1500 is ideal. I think it's mostly complete.

You gave him a crap cooler. (H60)

what about the hyper 212 evo?

The H60 is definitely crap unless you just want a completely silent PC that doesn't do anything CPU intensive.

The 212 Evo is great for the price but better can be had if you're willing to pay for it. I don't know if Noctua has been surpassed on Air coolers but an AIO like the H100i or if you're really willing to spend (since you'll have to import it) the Swiftech H220 will perform notably better, but again this is at a notably higher price as well.
