Got a sound card for Christmas, and I'm looking for good headphones to go with them. I was looking at these, but I seemed to have missed a sale on them:

Any recommendations?

Two big things to think about are open/closed headphones and whether you want monitors or a "fun" sound.

At that pricepoint, the Grado SR-80i is your best bet. Beautiful sound.

None, those are called headsets, and usually have mediocre sound compared to a dedicated headphones at the same price.

I'm using the AKG K242 and if these ones are anything like my ones, I recommend them.

What I got for xmas. Head-fi seems to think they're just slightly modified 850s, but those get universal acclaim. Then again, the 850s are quite a bit less.

Both solid choices. They're made by a chinese company that's copying some $300 headset design with $50 headset components.
Once we perfect building Mechs, I expect there to be a factory in Mexico pumping out a brand call Mechsican. I wanna buy me a Mechsican.
