I can't get my computer to run dual monitors. Any ideas?

I have integrated intel graphics and I have also tried my NVidia card. In the menu it does not have an option for dual monitors that drop down box only shows one monitor. I have one monitor hooked up through vga and another through hdmi via vga (the monitors are old and are vga outputs). After google searching I am still not sure what I need to do to fix this.

Are they both plugged in to your graphics card? They should be. Then just right click the desktop, go to screen resolution and enable the second one.

I have tried this and the option to enable a 2nd card does not show up. I have dual screens on my other comp and that works just fine but this one... They are both windows 8. Maybe you can tell me the exact sequence you use to enable on your machine and it will somehow magically happen. I can only hope at this point. A little frustrated.

I think it isn't detecting the hdmi input but both monitors work on the vga in.
