Should I play RE 6 before I play 5 story-wise?

First 6 games in the main series I love but I haven't played 5 and 6. Of course 6 is on sale, so is it ok to play without 5? Or should I just wait till I play 5? I'm sure it'll be on sale again some other time, right?

Do you have any idea at all what happens in 5? If the ending has been spoiled go ahead and get 6 (or don't :P not a great game). That's the only thing referenced in 6 aside from a few enemy types. Chris has a lot of PTSD flashbacks but none of them were to 5.

E: I will say that I haven't played any of 5's DLC so I dunno if anything there is referenced. There wasn't really a moment where I felt like I was missing a bit of knowledge or anything though.

Nah not at all. I've tried the most not to spoil myself so last I know what happens with Chris is what happens in Code Veronica >_>
I can wait I suppose then. Thanks a bunch. Probably just pick up Revelations while it's 15 bucks and have my RE fix there.

The thing with RE5 is that it kinda sets up the next stage in RE's storyline, what with the BSAA, BOWs, and the terrorism that all of that involves.

So if you care about the story at all, go with 5 first.

Definitely get 5, it's a pretty solid experience. I was disappointed my first playthrough but going through again later on professional I really enjoyed it. It's not RE4 but few games are.

Sounds good thanks. Yeah I've been playing RE since they came out and stopped after 4 for some strange reason.

Just curious, have you played revelations? Idk about story but gameplay it's awesome.

RE5 is cheap, pick it up.

Only the demo on 3DS and loved it. It's 15 bucks on Steam right now so probably will pick it up tomorrow when my check goes into my account. The controls were kinda weird on 3DS to me so I think it'd be better suited to play on PC ( I think?). I also heard there's extra stuff on the PC version.

For sure. I've spent a lot though so far on Steam sales since this is my first year PC gaming so I think I have a good backlog >_>
