Will g skill ripjaws 2133 work with has well

#1murphy230Posted 12/27/2013 9:01:46 PM
I was looking at compatible ram and the g.skill ram is set to 1.6 V where as Intel says it is recommended to go for 1.5. I believe this is guaranteed to work where 1.6 requires o.c I have the maximus vi formula and a i7 4770k

Any help/opinions would be great thank you

I got them for 170 where I work, but pc part picker is showing it can have compatibility issues. Is that just cause it voids the warranty of the CPU if you go past 1.5v on ram?

Sounds like it from what I've read but should still work fine

I believe it would just lower it to what's acceptable if I understand correctly. Isn't that what a bottleneck is, even if ever so slight?

Not 100% sure I've been looking around for a good hour, can't seem to find a definitive answer. Figured I'd ask here cause I trust ya guys here :p. I'm pretty sure if you enable x.m.p on bits it should auto set it to the speed of the ram.
