As the more reasonable people have voiced, the game isn't terrible all, in fact it's enjoyable in most regards. It's just a noticeable step down from the first game.

What pisses me off the most about crappy sequels is that so often they don't even try. If Invisible War really tried to be a proper Deus Ex sequel but came up short it would be much easier to forgive. But when they take blatant steps backward before they even start with crap like universal ammo then it's just a ****ing travesty.
Christ forbid developers try something new lest they offend basement dwellers who prostrate themselves before the holy originals every night before getting off to my little pony porn. Leave the past where it damn well belongs and judge games based on their own merits first.

exactly, but just watch as the little master race pretenders stick up for dismal, dumbed down consolified "sequels", which compared to their lowbrow peasant jRPGs and Battlefield FPSes are comparatively deep and engrossing.
