Graphics card advice.

#1Invisible1122Posted 12/28/2013 4:25:27 AM
So my current card (XFX Radeon HD 6850) seems to be broken. The fan is seizing up or something so running games pretty much out of the question.

I'm thinking that it may as well be time to upgrade. I always have a tough time trying to figure out what's going on in the hardware world. I'm looking for a card that's more powerful, but not going to break the bank. I'd set a price range around $250.

Can anyone help me out here with some advice? I'm currently looking at:

MSI Gaming N760 TF 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 760 2GB

I really appreciate any input.

I almost bought the GTX 760, but decided 660ti was better for me.

Can't go wrong with the 770 if you wanted to splurge a bit or the 760. Check the second chart. Good values.

GTX 760 or the 660ti are about on par. Both can be found for about 250, and lower if you don't mind refurbished cards. My 660ti is refurbished and has been great since I got it in June, and I only spent 190. And that'sin Canada.

I recommend making the switch to NVidia. And I recommend buying now, since the after christmas sales are still rolling.

go for the 770 if you have the money, its essentially a faster 680 for a lower price. likely 2GB VRAM is what you want.
