I like to keep my saves from the games I have played but don't want to keep games on my PC that I may not play for a very long time. If I uninstall a game on Steam how do I keep the save info? I am about 60% through the 1TB I have available.

Depends on the game really, some save files are stored in My Documents\ folder, some in the game's install folder (removed when uninstalled) and some are stored in the Steam\userdata\#########\ folder.

Yep, just search for where saves are stored for that game. And generally, when you remove a game it leaves the saves and config - sometimes it will even ask you if you want to delete. I've been keeping all mine for quite a while. Was fun to load up my final save for morrowind after over a decade.

Thanks for the info. I expected something semi-universal but that would be too easy.

Usually they are in "my documents" or its subfolder "my games."
