Trying to find a webcam that can double as a good mic

#1RellePosted 12/28/2013 9:52:59 PM
Emphasis on the 'good' part. I'd like to use it to make a couple youtube videos. Nothing super fancy, but I'd like the audio quality to not suck ass. I actually care less about the overall video quality. I just want it to have a smooth framerate. This'll be for a Windows desktop. Price range is anything under $40, the lower the better. Any suggestions/recommendations?

I find these two posts a bit contradictory, since the C510 is indeed just under $40. :P

maybe there are some nice ones with good mic, In my experience a webcam mic picks up too much surrounding noise and it'll just annoy the people you're playing with.

If you're making them for fun, the webcam Clouddx suggested will work well enough. Although so long as you speak clearly, any mic should do.

Heck, I've made YouTube video's before using a mic from a guitar hero game on the PS2 and the audio quality was fine. The video sucked, but the audio was fine lol.

It depends what you're doing. It sounds like the TC will be playing with face-cam (Something I've never got the idea of to be honest), so I'd imagine they will be alone whilst making the videos with no one to annoy.

Well, not really going to do facecam (at least not for the videos I have planned) but it'll likely be used for its intended purpose as a webcam. Up until now I've just had my netbook handy for when I need to skype with friends in Japan.

Made the order. Remaining amazon gift certificate fund made it totally free, so that was nice.
