Should Steam introduce an OPTIONAL ps+ style feature?

I.e. Where you pay, say, 9.99 a month and get access to a bunch of free games each month?

Obviously this should be an entirely optional feature like ps+ was on ps3. Forcing a sub on Steam users would likely kill the service.

They're already giving away games for practically nothing, what more do you want?

You mean instead of buying and crafting cards, we could just give them money?

Nothing but a bad idea right there.

people kill me. how is adding options a bad idea. Valve didn't get where they are by not trying out things. not saying they should or shouldn't try this but its an idea nonetheless. Im glad people on this bored are not publishers. we'll have even more ideas thrown out the window.

I dunno, unless these games would be new releases I don't see many people signing up to pay $10 for a couple random games.

The problem is they already give away stuff for free, so having a paywall will just make the already free stuff not-free.
It's a bad idea. It was a bad idea when Sony tried it, and it'd be a bad idea if Valve tries it.
