#1gamesisgoodPosted 12/29/2013 10:31:15 AM
My buddies little brother just got a new pc gtx 660 amd fx 8320 8 gigs of vengance and 1 tb harddrive..... anyways his parents bought him all of this and ended up getting him the new windows 8. I run 7 so am having some trouble helping him but his system seems to be just kinda of slow ( already checked BIOS) and its not on energy saver mode or anything like that ..... pretty he downloaded drivers and windows updates... but still seems to be running slower than it should is there something he might be missing ? Thanks ( and when I say slow I mean just basic things opening up task manager and what not )

What motherboard is it, and does it have the latest BIOS? If the motherboard is using an older BIOS it might not recognize the CPU properly

Have you checked in the BIOS that the CPU is recognized properly?
I just saw that the motherboard got support for that CPU first after some BIOS updates

What PSU is it? And are you sure the GPU is the 660 and not the 660 Ti? Because the 660 Ti requires an extra connector
