ARMA 2 / DayZ

I see that arma2 is on sale right now. If I bought that and downloaded the DayZ mod, is that the same thing as the standalone DayZ you can buy for $29.99? Is there any difference at all - other than the price?

Similar in that the DayZ mod has less content and is now pretty much abandoned in terms of future content compared with the standalone. It's like asking if version 0.25 of the game is similar to version 0.50. Yes and no.

can u even count 30 in 1 second? no, u can't. so u can't tell difference between 30fps and 60fps. stupid. -Shinobier-

Eh, no the mod has far more content than the Standalone does and it has dozens of maps to choose from instead of just boring old Chernarus.

Cool opinion bro. I already have 65 hours in DayZ early access and I've quite enjoyed it.

The standalone is on ARMA 3, IIRC, it will be more stable, look better, have more content, right now its still a rough beta so leave it be for a few months.

As for the ARMA 2 version, it is no longer supported and will be dead within the weeks.
