its too bad that theres a steady circle jerk on here talking bad about laptop gamers.

i started off with desktop builds and its great to feel like you have such a high performance machine but i bought an Asus 4 years ago that had a 260m, comparable to an 8800 series card, that i enjoyed the hell out of since it was portable and played 95% of games at max settings then. it didnt take long until i used it more often then my q9550 @ 3.8ghz/gtx285 build.

these days i use a Toshiba with an i7 and 670m. paid a grand even and it hasnt complained of any game that ive played on it. i guess of there are trolls that come around here and brag about their $2000 Alienwares then yeah i get it but damn, people cant even try to discuss gaming laptops on here without the crap talk.

anyway, excuse my little rant. try to be a little nicer to some of us laptop gamers please.

No one has ever said that gaming laptops are awful or don't fulfill a purpose, it's just that you will get better performance for your money out of a desktop, which is an undeniable fact. Unless you travel frequently or are forced by work or school to regularly have long hours of downtime away from your home then a desktop build is probably going to be the way to go.

When it gets right down to it, no matter how nice your laptop is, if you had spent the same amount on a desktop, you'd have a higher performance computer.

i included my little story of desktop builds because im clearly aware of that.

maybe when Alienware first started making gaming laptops, there were rich kids out there who had disposable income to go out and buy them just because they could. these days im sure that anyone that buys a gaming capable laptop absolutely understands the cost difference between all out performance vs. being able to game wherever and whenever you feel like.

What's wrong with Alienware? I'm all about my Alienware. Maxes almost everything out at 1080p. Unfortunately I game at 2560x1440 so I use my desktop for most things.
