It's not for high end PCs, it might add a few % improvement, it doesn't matter as sources are saying that Nvidia will be announcing the 800 series this week.

Nvidia already had their big CES presentation. It consisted of things already announced plus Tegra K1 and an update on Denver (ARM Cortex A57/56).

No Maxwell in sight as far as I can tell.

Oh, and it's unlikely that we'll see Maxwell flagships anytime soon if it's really 20nm. TSMC is giving Apple a lot of space at their plants. Not to mention ARM SoCs are far simpler than flagship GPUs. I doubt we'll see any high-end 20nm GPUs until at least fall.

They are expected to do more, the first Maxwell is reported to be 28nm, with the 20nm to come later.

That expectation comes from Charlie of SA

It looks like Nvidia is going to talk about Maxwell this Sunday so lets catch you up to speed a little early.

It's Monday now and there hasn't been a peep.

Well, in any case have fun with your 28nm rebadges that are probably still several months off, since you won't see any 20nm flagship cards for a long time.

It really doesn't matter, the 780 ti > anything AMD offers, one game that supports Mantle isn't going to change that. ;)

You guys are just as bad. The fact of the matter is there is no real world benchmarks in the wild and yet this topic exists. Come on guys. AMD and Nvidia both offer some great technology. This pissing contest has and always will be a joke.

Indeed. Show me real world numbers and adoptions rates and we'll talk about how significant Mantle actually is.

I would be saying the same things if Nvidia was doing this. Also, if Mantle turns out to be good I would switch to AMD.

Doing what? Making up numbers as you just accused AMD of doing?

They aren't made up numbers but they are definitely picking and choosing what gets measured to make their product look as good as possible. Much like all the 4k benches for the 290x prerelease. They are real but obviously picked because they put their products in the best light.

Yeah, you've basically just described marketing in a nutshell.
