Is this kind of conversation allowed?

But to answer you, yes, the more accurate an emulator gets, the more power it requires to run it.

Well i'm playing it with a legally obtained game. I believe we can't discuss roms.

Don't mod me! Roms are bad! support the publishers! yadda yadda!

What pc setup are you running that emulator on?

I'm just curious as I wouldn't mind giving it a go but have doubts if mines even good enough for the old version...

It's very much a moddable offense, I won't report you but someone probably already has.
You should edit your post and remove everything in it. Then close this topic.

It is normal, unfortunately.

The newer version fixed MANY things, made the HLE sound engine a LOT better... but made the emulator a LOT more resource-heavy.

Go back to the 3.5 version if the newest version is too slow for you, but keep in mind that the newest version has a LOT less bugs, and a better sound support.

I have the same setup as you, OP, have you tried Twin Snakes on it?

I gave it a try kinda recently and it worked...then after a restart the sound started glitching out like mad, it sounded like one of those demonstrations that would play if you left it on the main menu on older games was going on, you'd hear Snake shooting, stuff blowing up, the Colonel talking, even though I'm just walking around doing nothing. It was kinda hilarious, but there's no way I can play through like that!

Isn't that right, Zach?

cpu-wise the newer version of dolphin is more demanding in that area
