What pc setup are you running that emulator on?

I'm just curious as I wouldn't mind giving it a go but have doubts if mines even good enough for the old version...

I had dolphin 3.0 once and it ran golden on an overclocked Q6600

An i5 2500 with a gtx 780

8 gigs of RAM

Cheers, I might be able to scrape through then, I'll give it a go :)

Is this kind of conversation allowed?

But to answer you, yes, the more accurate an emulator gets, the more power it requires to run it.

Well i'm playing it with a legally obtained game. I believe we can't discuss roms.

Don't mod me! Roms are bad! support the publishers! yadda yadda!

Well unless you inserted the CD into the dvd drive and it worked, then its not legal, you are playing with a ripped version of a game and thats against the copyright, just saying....

I actually have a Wii, but after I had the chance to try Dolphin, I couldn't stand the low resolution graphics of the real console. :p

Try this: right click game -> Properties -> disable MMU Speed Hack and MMU

I noticed this too. Games went from full speed on my old C2D 4850 rig to completely unplayable.

In 3.0 they dropped OpenGL support, which was always the most efficient way to run it before. Their logic is "well its easier for us to just focus on DX and we dont' care if it runs like crap for most people without UberPCs."

Seriously? They went with the more CPU intensive API. That's lovely....
