Just bought an MSI R9 290 Gaming from Amazon. They're on sale for $469

Only problem is that I'll have to wait a while.

It's $469(After NY Taxes it was $511 :/ )

Anyone that lives in a state that does not charge tax for Amazon is looking at probably the best deal there will be for a custom cooled R9 for a while.

Hopefully it comes with Battlefield 4. Then I could at least try to sell it and re gain some money

Well theres a reference 290 for 457. Then buy a custom cooler down the road

You can find reference R9 290s for ~$400 at these two sites

They seem legit enough. and the blt site even tells you up to date what the availability is like on the back order and wait times

The 290's have been kind of easy to find in stock online. It's the 290x that is always sold out or being price gouged the most.

I'd like to see the reviews for that(I cannot find any), the MSI Gaming edition for the 780 ti did fairly well, curious on what it does for the 290(x)

I'm in the need of a couple GPUs, right now I'm leaning on Nvidia's side, even tho that 3GB is meh, but I doubt I'll keep them long enough for that to be an issue. Meh, giving it a couple of weeks and then I'm buying something.

Yeah I hope reviews come out for the MSI sometime soon, but the cooler looks asically the same as the ASUS Direct CU and I've had good experiences with TwinFrozr cooled GPUs so I decided to bite
