Anyone here used Eagle Eye to use m/kb on PS3?

I bought a PS3 a few months ago to enjoy some console exclusives a few months back. Tragically, a lot of the games I want to play tend to involve guns. I can't shoot things with a controller - not without a really annoying process of carefully balancing my aim back and forth anyway. I've gotten better, but it's so tedious and annoying...

So, has anyone used this thing? Any opinions on it?

Wouldnt it be hard to use a kb/m on a game with aim assist? or does aim assist shut off when using kb/m on a ps3?

Most PS3 games don't have aim assist. Instead, they actually have bigger hit boxes. It feels a bit weird shooting the air around someone's head and scoring a headshot, but its POSSIBLE to get used to this. ;)

EDIT: BTW, I used this for a while. But it REALLY doesn't feel natural. I tried playing a FPS with this, but the mouse feels HORRIBLE. Even if you just move the mouse slowly to the right, your character will look quite fast, like you just pushed the analog stick all the way to the right. This setup was great to play games like God of War 3 and Final Fantasy XIII (horrible game, btw...), but felt weird with a FPS game...

Wouldnt that be considered cheating?

You are pretty much using all you finger joints going against opponents with just a thumb. With mouse, it also enables some hardcore fps players to us techniques such as drag shots a lot beter than thumb stick.

I always thought that they'd never cross platform PC and consoles even if the games are the same because of this very reason.

Well, I always play in single player, so I wouldn't say its cheating. :p

Still, like I said, its not really that good of a setup for FPS games. Its awkward, and takes a while to get used to.

I've never used the one TC linked, but I have a XIM Edge and it does work pretty well. One of the things you have to worry about is if they'll have profiles for your games. If they dont, it can feel weird or be borderline unplayable. If they do have a profile for it, it feels almost like playing it on a PC.

AFAIK the Xim Edge is basically the only good option for M/KB on PS3. The XIM3 and other stuff usually end up feeling wonky because they aren't actually 1:1 motion.

Unfortunately, the thing is really hard to come by unless you don't mind spending quite a bit over retail for a used one.

Agree with the other posts here. I have an Eagle Eye and the lack of customization coupled with its not so great stick emulation makes it a poor choice for the price IMHO. The XIM Edge or the Cronus MAX are much better as far as I'm concerned and well worth the price. The XIM 4 is set to debut in the not too distant future, so might want to wait for that.
