The demo was fun, though I had some difficulty dealing with enemy snipers.

Also, whole lotta text. And less voice acting than Kotor. Or even the first Baldur's Gate.

Once we perfect building Mechs, I expect there to be a factory in Mexico pumping out a brand call Mechsican. I wanna buy me a Mechsican.

There's basically no tutorial and the game seriously needs one. There are systems stacked on systems and none of them are explained.

This is the best description really. You just get hit with pages and pages of menus talking about Meta-Streum and Brouzhofs and lots of barely understandable English.

I coincidentally was playing it in co-op for the first time today, and we managed to blunder through the first four missions just by shooting anything near the objective marker on the HUD. That included killing lots of friendlies, but it didn't seem to impact our progress at all. If you have a friend to play with, you can have a fairly fun blast through without needing to know what's going on.

The best approach early on IMO is to go with the Sulfatum (the chain gun). It's the best gun for shoot-everything-that-moves playstyle and is pretty straight forward. Mess with the other weirder stuff later on.

Also, killing lots of friendlies will affect your karma rating. If you have low karma and die, then you'll lose stats until you can afford the (incredibly expensive) upgrades that'll undo perma-stat loss.

Never looked into it, but this blurb from one of the Steam reviews hooked me:

E.Y.E. is essentially a cyberpunk Deus Ex set in the Warhammer 40k setting. It's French and the translation is awful,

Cyberpunk
Deus Ex
40k
Bad French translation

Sold.

It's not like Deus Ex at all
