Here's after I OC'd my GPU

Can I OC a bit more?

Nice.

I thought so too! Too bad it's not stable, unless it's running Valley...

Maybe I could try turning the voltage up a bit...

or maybe I shouldn't as the card would probably melt.

seeing you guys say that's a low score makes me sick to my stomach.

It's not a "low" score, it's lower than it should be for his hardware. There's a big difference.

you're right... it was gas.

and technically, it's not OC'd after you flash, it just becomes a stock 290x. Which my card is/was, just locked down to a 290 because it clearly can't handle extra OC'ing/thermals. (so if they released this 290 as a 290x, you would hardly be able to OC it and people would be pissed.)

ah, you flashed your 290 to a 290x bios. Curious, what model is you card? I'm buying a reference r9 290 from MSI, would I be able to do this as well?

Mine is an xfx.

You should get one of the toxic cards not a reference!

And I'm not sure if you'd still be able to do it. I think they might be correcting it..

cool, thanks. Mind linking the card you got if it's non-reference?

Neat, now it's almost as fast as my GTX 760 in that benchmark.

As a 760 owner my self, I highly doubt that.

290 cards do poorly in that test, they do much better at actual games. 290 Cards are around that of a 780.

Give/Take some benchmarks

Yea, I'm not worried about the benchmark anymore. The 290 pwns games and that's all that matters. To me anyway, some might like those high bench numbers which is cool too.

Mine is a reference but after seeing the non-refs..it made me jelly. meh, I got a 290x for $400. Can't beat that price/performance ratio.
