If you breed them, they will come. Wait.. WUT? Idk, keep trolling the console peasants though. They will realize eventually.

What is considered to be an active account? That's such a vague statement.

Still, what's up with the slices of the sales? NA is 41%, Western Europe 40% and Eastern Europe 2%. I guess NA just had to be on the top lol.

How much money are you going to get from card drops? Especially in free games like TF2 where you will earn 1 cent per card.

Probably enough to at least break even with electricity costs lol

Although from what I understand, a lot of it is multiple accounts on gifting sites as well as buying indie bundles by the crapload.

Also a lot of psn users who played Portal 2 had to make a steam account to play online. I have 2 steam account because of that.

It's the same kind of vague marketing statement as EA used when they claimed they had a ton of accounts... probably counting every last account since the dawn of time in hopes of making their numbers look bigger... The only number that really matters might be concurrent users, which is like around 6.5 million at the peak right now...

They probably DID grow a lot in the last month or two though... If I bought a game for someone and sent it to their email address then they have to make a steam account to accept it... so that makes an account right there.... even if nobody ever plays it, that's a brand new account.

The statement is "active accounts" which implies some kind of standard (logged in within x months, maybe?). Still though, not really anything more than a curiosity by itself.

I know for a fact that there are even more Steam accounts than that existing. So Valve obviously isn't counting them all in some blanket statement. Active probably refers to an account that has logged in within the past X amount of days.
