C/D: Bethesda has a special talent for creating truly hideous animations.

I disagree. I don't think the animation in the TES games are THAT bad. There are better, but they aren't BAD.

They're fixed by mods anyways.

I anticipate the animations in their next release though.

Isn't it weird that modders, who create content as a hobby, do a vastly better job than the "professionals"? What the hell is wrong with Bethesda?

Animations. Voice acting is bad, but it's usually "passable".

Animations, on the other hand, look like they were made with Google Sketchup.

I think (I'm going to get flak for this) that their animation is fine--it's the muddled character models that bother me to no end. It's embarrassing.

People don't run mods in skyrim. They install them, get to the loading screen, get bored and install more mods, repeat ad infinitum.- Orestes417

The character models are ugly as hell too. The women look like men and the men look like apes. I know they're supposed to be stereotypical barbarians but I think it's a bit much. You need the racemenu mod to make a decent looking character who doesn't have grossly exaggerated features. And the other races like the elves, especially the dark elves, have the worst of it. They look like bug faced freaks

And the hair, oh god the hair. Why are western devs so bad at making hair? The hair is just blobs, unmoving blobs.

Love their games to death, but I agree with the crappy animations. Also agree with the person that said Bioware. The Mass Effect trilogy is one of my favorite series of all time, and I loved Dragon Age Origins, but good god. The animations, so bad.

Then again, it seems so few games have good animations period. Even games like Assassin's Creed are just so-so. Tomb Raider and Uncharted and The Last of Us have great animations. What are some others?

Max Payne 3

If you'll notice, it's the cinematic games that have the best animations.
