Controller with good D-Pad?

#1Saga3Posted 1/23/2014 7:04:43 PM
I'm looking for a controller with a good D-pad just for emulators. Right now I have a terrible $2 USB controller that does the job (Better than the 360's), but I'm looking for something new. Should I just get the DS3, or is there a better one? 40 is my budget

Official, SLS, Sega Saturn, USB controller.

If you can find one and are willing to pay the price; it has the best D-pad of any controller ever made, IMO.

I have, like, 8 or 9, most of them are in storage, but I would never part with any of them.

Beware of the knock offs; auction sites are rife with them.

I've heard good things about the Sega Saturn controller but never used one... supposedly you want the second version of the controller instead of the first. They're both good... but I've heard the second is better.

Oh, and don't by anything with the, 'retrolink' logo.

If you can't find one in the wild, you would probably be better off getting an adapter and buying a used, JP Saturn pad (don't buy NTSC ones).

I love the DS4 and it has a great D Pad. I use it for all games that require a good D pad, or for when I have 3 player local multiplayer going on. For every other game I use a controller for, I have 2 360 pads. They're better for games that don't absolutely need a good D Pad.

I like the DS4, but the D-pad is horrible, to be honest.

It hasn't really even changed at all since the DS1 (or any parts, mostly), which is one major factor of why I am in a love affair with the DS4.
