How good of a port do you think GTA V will be?

The console version is at 30 frames and upscaled to 1080.

The console version RARELY runs at 30 FPS. And the draw distance and popping is awful.

So obviously it'll be far better. But it's too late, everyone's over the game. By the time they port it, it'll be forgotten. At least with GTA IV the hype lasted long enough for people to buy the awful PC port.

The game supposedly runs on the same engine as Max Payne 3 which had both excellent performance and visuals. I'd expect it to do quite well.

It'll either be a good port like with Max Payne 3 or it will be pretty bad but still better than the version on the horribly aged consoles (despite the bad GTA IV port, the PC version is still better).

Either way, there's a good chance PC will still be the best platform to play it on.

A 30fps lock would suck, but that's still playable for me with a third person single player game.

But you have to admit the draw distance on last generation consoles for GTA V is very impressive on an old hardware like that. Yes the pop ups are awful but I can imagine how well GTA V will be on the PC.

What exactly was/is wrong with the GTA IV port? The other thing I hated about it was GFWL.

The draw distance is excellent for a console. The detail distance is the problem. It's so bad that in a fully tuned supercar or bike you can even drive faster than the details can load, sending you to low poly land and causing the game to stutter. This is very annoying when someone is chasing you because the stuttering causes your vehicle to freeze while the details load.
