First boot up of first PC

#1MrtyuPosted 1/31/2014 2:10:30 AM
This is my first PC and I built it, it boots up so I guess that's a start. The problem is I'm not sure what the fans are supposed to sound like and due to having a tight case and non-modular PSU its quite a mess so to me it sounds that possibly a fan is clipping a wire (sounds a bit like a strimmer) but I can't tell if its normal or not. Finally when I boot up I just get stuck on a screen saying chassis intrusion, how do I get past it?

Well I put it together and how do I get past this screen to the BIO's, do I need to unplug the cable for alert?

There's no apostrophe in BIOS. It's not like the BIOS is possessing anything.

It's obvious that you didn't build that pc from scratch.

But to get rid of the chassis intrusion you just need to remove the CMOS battery for about 10 mins, that will reset your bios.

To remove the warning permantly you will have to jump the switch.

Or if the bios has the feature to disable it you can do that also.

Edit: more than likely you will have to reconnect the switch.
