I think Nintendo should make its own digital game client like Steam. They have a HUGE library of games to work with and if they did it right and had sales and stuff i could see it becoming very popular. Still keep consoles but run the PC game client on the side. I know many pirate these old games but thats why you make a better easier product than the pirates have. imagine old NES and SNES games with online leaderboard and such maybe even online added. Nintendo would be on a gold mine. its sad that they are so out of touch with modern times to ignore PC users that are in thier late 20s that would love a thing like this. it would hit the indie games lover market right on the head as most indie games are inspired by such classics!

That would be extremely counterproductive.

How about "Nintendo", instead of making their "own" digital distribution service, they just put their "games" on "Steam"?

I'd like that. It would probably be good for Ninty as well.

Not a bad idea I would take that too. I just think Nintendo is much to a control freak to not handle it themselves.

Nintendo can't get online right, they can't get VC right, Wii U Eshop is especially a joke...Things purchased are still tied to console despite NNID linking 3DS and Wi U

I love Nintendo. But they're so behind the times with anything internet related.

Exactly my point! If they hired someone with the skill to create a client as easy as steam to buy their games on PC and ran it just as steam with sales and leaderboards/online added and such you would use it right? I know I would and a bunch more who would as well. They would make MILLIONS and not really have to create much "new" content.

Nintendo is pretty adamant on making their hardware necessary for their games.

And given how incredibly successful they are, it's hard to really argue with it, despite the recent Wii U issues.

Nintendo would be smart to get with the times and improve their hardware and online functionality, but they're far from needing to rely on other companies to make it work.

Because Valve will take a cut from their games, unless somehow they come to an agreement.
