I have an ATI card.

A non free one that can be bought though amazon would work as well.

For capturing gameplay, MSI Afterburner is probably your best bet.

According to the website, the tool "Predator" comes bundled with their graphics chips.

I used MSi after burner took a little to figure out how to set it up but it was golden.

Oh it was to capture pc gameplay. I thought it was for WDM capturing. Indeed MSI afterburner is what I recommend.

I definitely recommend it. In addition to capturing video, it lets you do streaming in case you want to dabble in that.
