Asus Z87-A or Gigabyte Z87X-D3H?

Feature-wise, they seem identical and they seem to have an equal performance and both OC well. I don't really have a preference either, so what board is better?

The Gigabyte board is awesome. After seeing some overviews on NeweggTV I might have to do an Intel Gigabyte build soon.

I guess you can't go wrong with either of the two. Similar feature, price, performance. It might as well go down to what looks nicer in your case, but I would go with the Gigabyte board just to give it a try.

if you saw the youtube video where the guy from ASUS said that all of the Z87 boards have the same overclocking software (AI Suite), and that the only difference between the various models is things like number of PCIE slots, SATA ports, etc, he was lying. the Z87-A doesnt have the same version of AI Suite as the other boards, so it doesnt have the 4 way optimization that they talked up quite heavily in their youtube videos.

still a good board if you are going to manually overclock.

Religion is like circumcision. If you wait until someone is 21 to tell them about it, they probably won't be interested.
