What if Scenario: Windows 9.

What if MS showed off Windows 9 and it brings back the classic Windows work environment instead of this metro tile stuff but with a prettier UI than Win7, tighter security and an emphasis on getting things done quickly and efficiently.

In addition to that MS calls gabe newell to the stage and they announce steam integration in windows; with an integrated UI that matches windows and announce exclusive games only on steam through windows such as Halo and Gears of War.

As well as the steam games they announce that they will put an emphasis on cross platform multiplayer with PC and xbox one.

Oh and HL3 exlusive to windows steam.....lol ok that is a bit much.

But yea what would you think?

Windows 8 has "the classic Windows work environment" as always. A different looking start menu didn't change that.

tighter security is what I dislike about vista and everything after that, I like messing around with system files and all that stuff and I don't need Windows to tell me what I can and can't do.

Fine with first part, don't want MS getting their grubby paws on Steam.

First two lines - great. Screw the rest though. Would be great to see back catalogue Microsoft titles sold through numerous channels without client shackling.

What exactly is W7 missing that W9 can offer to desktops

besides... prettiness? IDK, I don't even look at the W7 UI unless I'm managing files opening/closing windows...

By the time the first line happens MS will be filing for bankruptcy. Nobody can ignore mobile, no matter how poor the implementation.

Also, tiles 100% optional in Win8 and 8.1. I haven't even seen them since installing.

Another idea I had was the spy/sniper being able to climb into the soldier's rocket launcher and be launched across the map, dealing more damage, but no splash.

That's not what tighter security means. Linux is vastly more secure than Windows while simultaneously offering my control and freedom.
