Hey guys,

I posted a week or so ago asking for some input/suggestions on a proposed build, and I have another question.

The topic title pretty much covers it, but for a single 1080p monitor gaming setup, would the better price-for-performance option be the GTX 770? Does the 780's performance justify the extra cash, given the setup? Build budget is in the $1400-$1600 range. Thanks for any input.

For the price range just get the 780

Best you can afford, as usual with GPUs. No single card can max every single game at 1080p/60+fps... so go with the best.

I have the 770 and it is a really nice card but I only got it because the 780 was out of my price range. I can get smooth gameplay at mostly ultra settings so its fine for me.

Yeah, I have a 770 and I'm completely happy with it. Sure if you can afford the 780, go for it... but if it puts unwanted squeeze on your wallet, just stick with the 770
