just a FYI the gtx 760 wants a 500 watt with 30 amps, so I don't know if that PSU will cut it. its 430 with 28 amps.

Even the GTX 660 says it should have a 450 watt. Im not a total expert on PSU's and I know they usually over estimate but Im not sure exactly what you can get away with.

I will say for a budget build, a gtx 650 TI still is a good card.

I was actually thinking of spending the extra cash and getting a 760, but this worries me. Do the 760 and the 270x both have similar longevity?

And new egg still hasn't reimbursed me, so I can't buy till they do :(

i think the PSU worries are legit if you go 760 gtx. so consider an upgrade there. I have a r9 270x, Its a nice card for sure but given the current inflated pricing you find for the R9 series due to bitcoin miners, I think the 760 GTX is the way to go... unless you can find a r9 270x that comes with a free copy of BF4 still (if BF4 matters to you).

If the R9 270x was priced at $200 (its original MSRP) then it would be a slam dunk, but all I see is $230-240 right now... so you are better off going with 760 gtx for $250 or so

mantle is still in beta at this point. And BF4 is the only game that it works with. Results show 10-20% gains right now.

Get a better power supply 430w is low and I would not trust it powering anything above a nvidia gtx 660

dont try and cheap out on a PSU... get rid of that PSU and get at least a 600w corsair psu

You do know you can edit posts right? And a decent 430W PSU is good enough for a 760.

A 430W unit is fine for a 760. Normally the system will run around 300W, OCed will get up to 375 which is probably closer than you'd want to be but ultimately fine.

another posted stated the 760 gtx needed 30 amp on 12v rail... the psu only supplies 28amps, could cause problems i would think

Ah, you're right. The CX430 specifically isn't a great choice because the 12v rail is iffy and it only has one 8-pin connector. TC, you'll have to try to return it. The CX500 would definitely work since that'll likely be the next cheapest/suitable option.
