Obsidian is our last hope.

Now, if only they can release finished games with little or no bugs. Fortunately, this should not be a concern with their latest venture (Pillars of Eternity) as they do not have an evil overlord producer kicking their game out the door after 8 months in development.

Luckily, we've got Obsidian, Larian and CDPR.

I think you guys are over reacting. Bioware has provided many years and hours of entertainment and they released one high profile dud, being Dragon Age 2. And of course the ME3 ending controversy, but the rest of the game was pretty good, but they probably could have spent more time on it and make it completely epic, but whats done is done.

Dragon Age: Awakening: Underwhelming, but decent.
Dragon Age 2: Boring crap.
Star Wars: The Old Republic: Boring crap
Mass Effect 3: A decent shooter with a non-linear storyy and fun multiplayer.

They haven't made anything really good after ME2. ME3 had some nice consequences for your actions in ME2, but that's about it. The multiplayer wasn't even done by the core ME3 team and it was easily the best part of the game.

Yep, the two big mainstream RPG companies (beth and Bioware) have gone to crap.

I'd disagree with Beth. It went to crap after they fired the Morrowind team, but the quality of their games has risen afterwards. Oblivion was bad and broken, FO3 was just mediocre and Skyrim was a decently entertaining game. Maybe their next game will be genuinely good even without modding.

Would you define KOTOR as a "cinematic romance simulator maker"? I don't see how KOTOR is different from Mass Effect or Dragon Age.

Dragon Age 3 looks pretty awesome so far. Lets see how that turns out before we go crazy.

Uh no.

I kind of agree players are turning on bioware to easy.

I mean look at all the poor JRPG fans still getting beat down by mediocre final fantasys year after year.

But back the topic at hand, I kind of agree, bioware has generally been one solid with one turd being DA2.

ME3 was a mixed bag with some real highs and a few lows. I woudnt call it a total turd like DA2, but its a step down from ME2.

Anyways, it seems like Bioware is taking there time with DA3 and have learned there lessons about rushing out games. I think if they were all about making the $$$ they would have rushed to get DA3 like a year after ME3 before new consoles hit and they later on released the enchanced edition on next gen consoles.

Everyone knows EA killed Bioware. It's not even a theory anymore. If you've been paying attention, you will know they've been bleeding talent since the takeover. They've had two big rounds of layoffs since then, and I've heard something like half of their top designers and directors have left to start their own companies.

Obsidian hasn't had a big issue with bugs since they developed their new engine.
