780 or 780 ti for 1080p gaming?

#1protools1983Posted 2/17/2014 6:24:18 AM
With "next gen" games starting to flow out I want to be able to continue to max them so I am looking at the 780. I am happy with my 47" in 1080p and am not looking to upgrade that so is the 780ti overkill for 1080p?

Why would you even buy two...
especially when you can get four!

Are you really happy with 1080p or do you just not know any better? I was once "happy" with 1080p and then I upgraded to 2560x1440 and my life has changed for the better. Personally, I'd go TI.

lol yes, I am happy with 1080p. I am not upgrading my monitor so that's that. I just want all the newest games running smooth as butter maxed.

If you go with the 780 TI, you won't need an upgrade for quite a lot possibly. So if you have the money I'd go for it.

My 680 handled most 1080p games with no issues with the occasional super demanding game having to tone the AA down some to get 60fps....the TI is about 85% more powerful than a 680 so needless to say, a 780 TI will serve you well in 1080p...as it's destroying most games I throw at it in 1440p.

Either one will max the vast majority of games at 1080p no problem. Ti is more power in a single card, 780 is cheaper to SLI in the future if you want.

If you just don't care about cost then overkill it, hell wait for 790 Classified to come out.
