Played legitimate Crysis for the first time.

And was weirdly kind of disappointed that I ran it at complete max without a hitch and plenty of frames to spare. I remember a few years back when everyone here used it as a benchmark and I thought I was hot s*** because I could run the demo really well on my old Pentium 4 + 8600GT at like 40 FPS on all low. People were trying to max that game with 4870s and 4890s and GTX260s and all the old cards EVERYBODY had.

Anyway, not much point to this topic except for me to be all nostalgic over something that happened only a couple of years ago. I know there's much nicer looking games out now that push the hardware and I have a few of them, just feels kinda weird to look back at a game like that and nowadays it takes nothing to play it.

The games going over 7 years old. Honestly it still looks great even so. Of course hardware has improved and it's pretty easy to max out now. Crysis 3 is still pretty beastly to max, especially with realism mod. I'm also surprised by how amazing Crysis 2 looks with Blackfire 2.0 and MaldoHD 4.0.

Crysis 1/Warhead was pretty fun. Open world island was cool. Nice and lush, fun to explore.

Crysis 2 was suck. Too linear.

Crysis 3 was pretty fun again. I actually dig the MP quite a bit especially. Also it's not entirely as open as Crysis 1 but still. Way better than Crysis 2.

It's interesting and I enjoy it but kind of dull, at least for the first level. Granted, years back when I downloaded the demo I probably played through it two or three times a week because I loved the gameplay, so that could be why it's a little stale. Once I get past it I'm sure I'll get into it more.

What sort of computer do you have now? I've been playing it myself and regularly see the game hovering down around 30 FPS with everything as high as it will go and 2x AA on an OC'd 7850 (1050/1450) and i3-3220.

I've got an i5 4670 with 8 gigs of RAM and a 7870 and max it out with 8x AA with no problems. I haven't actually checked the frame rates on any of the games I've tried on my new rig, but Crysis flies.

Legitimate Crysis? What does this mean? Is there a non legitimate Crysis?

Interesting. I'm actually sort of curious as to if it may be dipping and you're not noticing; even at 30 it seems really smooth, when I usually find 30 FPS a bit jarring/stuttery.

But I do agree; these days, anything low-midrange or better maxes it with ease. The game is 7 years old though, and it still holds up graphically, which says a lot imo.

I guess I just meant I'm playing the full game finally. All I've ever played beforehand was just the demo, which only included the first island level.
