Anything like Zelda for the PC?

#51RoiorosPosted 2/19/2014 11:13:36 AM
You've tried the game called "Zelda Classic"? (is a freeware game).
This game Is a kind of remake of the first zelda for NES, with better graphics and a lot of improvements, also you can add customs quest.
Really fantastic!

How have Zelda Classic and Dink Smallwood not been mentioned? ZC will keep you busy for ages, tons of fan quests and overhauls have been released over the years. Good stuff.

Edit: I am blind and missed the post before mine.

Well, pretty much every Zelda game can be legally emulated. Besides the 3DS one, I think.

thats a myth about legal emulation, only legal emulation comes from the companies themselves, like virtual console and so on...

Incorrect. Emulation is always legal. What is illegal is creating/distributing/acquiring/using unauthorized copies of copyrighted software, including system software(BIOS files, ect) and commercial consumer software.(games)

Emulation is always legal provided you make your own singular backup of said software, do not copy said backup, destroy said backup in the event you no longer have access to the original licensed software, and do not modify said backup in any capacity. This includes backing up BIOS and ROM files. You are only authorized one legal backup per instance of software unless otherwise specified.

If emulation was not legal, people would be shut down for making emulators instead of distributing ROMs. In fact, Sony couldn't even prevent the legal software sale of a Playstation emulator in the 90s, and had to resort to buying the company selling the emulator.

Why the hell do people say Darksiders is like Zelda? They're absolutely nothing alike AT ALL.

I wouldn't say NOTHING alike, there are some Zelda-like elements in the game, but then again a lot of games borrow ideas/elements from other titles, it still doesn't make them carbon copies of those titles. TC - if you want a fun Zelda expereince, get yourself a 3DS and Zelda: ALBW - very fun game and well worth the asking price (IMO).

so much SNES bias from console peasants in this thread, they're so biased they list SNES jRPGs when they run out of Zelda clones, so glad I grew up in Europe and not in America, where we had several platforms to choose from (not just "S/NES or IBM PC".)

Crusader of Centy (Soleil) on Genesis/Megadrive
Neutopia on TurboGrafx-16
