Just got a new computer, looking for a good mmo to play

#1chicken8orPosted 2/19/2014 1:11:27 PM
I haven't played a mmo since Aion first released, what, 4 or 5 years ago?

That being said, I'm looking for a mmo to play. I would rather it were free-to-play and somewhat new. I hate getting into games where everybody is already max level and you are just playing catch up forever. Also, feel free to mention mmo's that have not yet released as I enjoy getting in at the first stage.

Graphics are not a problem (not that mmo's are usually very demanding) as I have a very powerful new gaming pc. I would enjoy a graphical mmo if possible.

I was looking at FF14:ARR since it is on sale on steam. I know it has a $12 per month subscription fee, but that is not necessarily a problem, I would just rather it be free.

Any suggestions?

Rift - WoW clone, great F2P model, don't have to pay anything if you don't want to, cool zone wide events, great endgame raiding.
GW2 - Unique, One time purchase ~$40, action based combat, endgame isn't similiar to most mmo's, doesn't focus on raiding that much, great to explore, living story updates twice a month, frequent new content, wvw is awesome huge pvp map with alot of people.
FFXIV - Final fantasy themed WoW. Decent FF Story, Fun Crafting IMO, nice dungeons.

I have enjoyed all three but I'm really digging GW2.

Guild Wars 2 is fun. $50, but no subscription and it's been on sale for ~$30 a number of times.

I would just wait for Elder Scrolls Online in about a month and a half.

Probably most MMOs would be fun specially if you haven't played in a while

I have a friend who's convinced that APB Reloaded is the best MMO ever. DCUO is okay too. And DayZ as an honorable mention even though it really isn't an MMO. I'd wait for the beta, though, as there currently isn't too much to do.

Honestly I have yet to play an MMO I liked.
