Avira Free, with occasional scans using Malwarebytes.

I've had too much s*** get through MSE's line of fire. Just over the last weekend I was cleaning up a relative's PC that got your run of the mill system lockout/browser takeover/popup spam malware, which opened the door to a slew of other infections MSE apparently didn't prevent.

Not to mention I got locked out of my operating system my a vicious Java exploiting virus/malware that MSE didn't catch and could not remove.

Webroot Secure Anywhere. It's fast and very light on resources; worth every penny.

Typically common sense but I bought a new laptop so I'm rocking the free 2 years of Kapersky that came with it. It's a decent program but nothing special.
