I never understood why people spend a lot on their hardware but don't know how things work.

Digital is digital. Only difference between HDMI/DVI/DisplayPort is audio and bandwidth.


Two things. All of those can carry audio, and another difference between them is DRM.

Uh, no. It's not.

A blanket statement was made that DVI doesn't carry audio. This is patently false, because DVI sometimes DOES carry audio. His argument was not only directly related, it also directly disproved the other statement.

dvi can only carry sound from adapters which isnt really the same as dvi to dvi carrying sound. so yeah dvi itself can not carry sound.
